Excellent Manchurian (Northern Chinese) dim sum ($1 to $6) and noodle soups at low prices. This really is an exceptional restaurant: their cuisine is delicate and fresh and the seasonings are perfect. Noodle soups are a specialty, notably the spicy beef noodle. The shredded pork with mustard green and julienned bamboo is wonderful - so mild and soothing. You have a choice of angel hair noodles or flat fettuccine-style. House-made dumplings get good reviews too. Favorites include steamed spare ribs, beef stew, sesame pork sandwich, scallion pancakes, and the unique thousand-layer pancake (showing the Northern Chinese influence). The latter flaky "pancake" can be torn off in shreds and dunked in soup, or sugared as eaten as an accompaniment or a dessert. Be sure to order the red bean paste pastry with pinenuts for dessert!! Visit their branch in Rockville, Maryland, too..(shown in photo) The owners also operate several restaurants in Beijing. Note that there is a large Chinese grocery store in the same building.

Excellent in every respect. Clean, tastefully-decorated 45-seat restaurant with wonderful Manchurian (Northern Chinese) dim sum and noodle soups. If you live anywhere nearby (or travel through) you must make this budget-priced haven a destination. There is a big Chinese grocery in the same building.
